Until There’s Nothing Left Of Us is Kill Hannah’s sophomore album. In this review, Ashtyn gives us her thoughts on the cover, the sound, and the singer of this band. From the looks of things, she tried to keep it short and sweet to stop things from becoming too sour.

Music Review: Rebels By RBD

In this Music Review, Ashtyn discusses her thoughts on the first English speaking album of the sensational Mexican pop band, RBD. With a mix of sounds and influences you would think that this CD would be worth it, but Ashtyn’s (normal) distate for pop music may be standing in the way. See what she has to say about RBD and their new CD Rebels.

Music Review: Editors — Rubber Bullets Remix of “Camera” and “All Sparks”

Guest Post by: Simon King

Weird how sometimes a good song by one group becomes great when done by another. That is not to say the songs of British post-punk revivalists, Editors, are merely good; quite the opposite. They are mostly great.

That would explain the Editors’ non-stop touring, playing to filled auditoriums and packed outdoor festivals across Europe. But in the talented hands of Baltimore remix artists Rubber Bullets, the great has become even greater.

Editors (to be clear, there is no ‘the’ in their name) are a four-piece group from Birmingham, England who released their first record in early 2005. Heavily influenced by greats such as Joy Division, Depeche Mode and Echo and the Bunnymen, Editors have yet to release a song that is crap.

DJ Dave Nada and Ris Richards, also know as Rubber Bullets, realized this and have recently remixed two of the best songs from Editors’ debut album, The Back Room.

Music Review: The Good, the Bad & the Queen – “Kingdom of Doom” (single)

Guest Post by: MartinT

Music Review:
The Good, the Bad & the Queen
“Kingdom of Doom” (single)

Super-groups come with built-in hype. From CSN, arguably the first super-group, up to now with GB&Q, the idea of combining established stars works well both artistically and commercially. Fans of Blur, Gorillaz, the Verve and the Clash will all be at least curious about the Good, the Bad & the Queen’s first single, “Kingdom of Doom.”

That’s because notable members of all of these bands are now involved in the Good, the Bad & the Queen. Blur and Gorillaz mastermind Damon Albarn has amassed his own personal dream lineup and taken them to the studio with him. It may be no surprise that Verve guitarist Simon Tong is on board, after having worked with both Blur and Gorillaz in the past.

Pioneering Afrobeat drummer Tony Allen provides the beat. In a somewhat shocking move, former Clash bassist Paul Simonon has signed on, returning from nearly twenty years of virtual absence from the music scene. The lineup is completed by Gnarls Barkley mastermind Danger Mouse, who produced the album, as he did with Gorillaz’ Demon Days.
