Synopsis:
I LOVE YOU PHILLIP MORRIS is the improbable but true story of a spectacularly charismatic conman’s journey from small-town businessman to flamboyant white-collar criminal, who repeatedly finds himself in trouble with the law and on the lam, brilliantly escaping from the Texas prison system on four separate occasions – all in the name of love.

His devotion to freeing Phillip from jail and building the perfect life together prompts him to attempt (and often succeed at) one impossible con after another. Told with an uncanny sense of humor and a lot of heart, “I Love You Phillip Morris” is an oddball tale of what can happen when the legal system, a daredevil spirit and undying love collide.

Our Thoughts:
I didn’t want to like this movie because I am not a huge Jim Carrey fan. I didn’t want to, but dammit this trailer had me laughing quite a bit. I don’t know if it’s because it’s labeled as a true story or if it’s because a seemingly romantic comedy about a homosexual criminal, but I have to see I Love You, Phillip Morris. I actually can’t wait to see this now that I have watched this trailer. Oh, and the penis cloud thing = awesome. Almost as awesome as the penis bagel setup. This looks to be a great flick.

Synopsis:
Stephanie (Amber Heard – The Joneses) and Ellie’s (Odette Yustman – Cloverfield) vacation to an exotic village in Argentina is a perfect ‘girl’s getaway’ to bask in the sun, shop and flirt with the handsome locals. After a long night of bar-hopping, the girls get into an argument, and Stephanie heads out alone in the morning to cool off. But when she returns, Ellie has disappeared. Finding signs of a struggle, Stephanie fears the worst, and turns to the police for help. But the local authorities have their hands full already – with a string of unsolved kidnappings targeting young female tourists. Skeptical of the sheriff’s competency, she enlists help from Michael (Karl Urban), an American ex-pat staying at their hotel. Together they go on a frantic search for Ellie, but Stephanie soon realizes that trusting his seemingly good intentions may drag her farther from the truth. With danger mounting, and time running out, Stephanie must find her friend before darkness falls.

Our Thoughts:
Anchor Bay might not be considered a major contender as far as the big studios go, but we are rarely disappointed with the quality of movies that they offer. The thriller/horror genre can be hit or miss anyway you look at it, but And Soon the Darkness could have some promise. We’ve seen the girlfriends on vacation when one goes missing movie before, so this is going to depend on the acting and the thrills that are offered here. The trailer gives me enough to want to see it, but I am not fully in love just yet.

Muse’s “Neutron Star Collision (Love is Forever),” comes from the upcoming Twilight Saga: Eclipse soundtrack. The new video is available exclusively worldwide today on MTV and VH1. The soundtrack will be available in stores June 8.

The first clip is called “The Car Wash” and it pretty much explains why this movie is called The Crazies.

In case you haven’t heard of The Crazies or can’t seem to figure out what the heck it is about, check out the synopsis, which was also provided by Overture Films.

The Crazies Synopsis: Imagine living in a small town where everything is safe and happy…until suddenly it isn’t. Imagine your friends and neighbors going quickly and horrifically insane. In a terrifying tale of the “American Dream” gone horribly wrong, four friends find themselves trapped in their hometown in The Crazies, a reinvention of the George Romero classic directed by Breck Eisner from a screenplay by Ray Wright (Pulse, Case 39) and Scott Kosar (The Amityville Horror, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre).

David Dutton (Timothy Olyphant) is sheriff of Ogden Marsh, a picture-perfect American town with happy, law-abiding citizens. But one night, one of them comes to a school baseball game with a loaded shotgun, ready to kill. Another man burns down his own house…after locking his wife and young son in a closet inside. Within days, the town has transformed into a sickening asylum; people who days ago lived quiet, unremarkable lives have now become depraved, blood-thirsty killers, hiding in the darkness with guns and knives. Sheriff Dutten tries to make sense of what’s happening as the horrific, nonsensical violence escalates. Something is infecting the citizens of Ogden Marsh…with insanity.

Now complete anarchy reigns as one by one the townsfolk succumb to an unknown toxin and turn sadistically violent. In an effort to keep the madness contained, the government uses deadly force to close off all access and won’t let anyone in or out – even those uninfected. The few still sane find themselves trapped: Sheriff Dutten; his pregnant wife, Judy (Radha Mitchell); Becca (Danielle Panabaker), an assistant at the medical center; and Russell (Joe Anderson), Dutten’s deputy and right-hand man. Forced to band together, an ordinary night becomes a horrifying struggle for survival as they do their best to get out of town alive.

The second clip is called “There’s Somebody Outside” and this clip just serves to add further intrigue to what is happening in this small town.

The third clip is called “What Does it Mean”. I don’t know about you, but these clips have certainly piqued my interest in seeing The Crazies.

This year, the series will focus on three crews of roughnecks of Rig 28, who have a seemingly impossible job. Assembled by oilman Autry Stephens, they have only 50 days to try to save the lease on a very valuable piece of land before it expires. In that time they must drill four, back-breaking holes. I don’t know about you, but I am sure going to miss Paula. She’s one of the main reasons I watched the show. Sure, the bad singing is amusing and the horrendous dancing can be even funnier, but it’s Paula acting like a space cadet that really draws the crowds. She sure made things interesting. I don’t know if I will be watching AI next season (I can’t stomach anymore Kara than I already have) but I do know that Paula will sorely be missed.
