Scary Movie 5: Scarier than You’d Think!

It’s one of the first images of Scary Movie 5 and boy does it speak volumes. Two train wrecks find their way into a movie relationship at the beginning of Scary Movie 5, which will be released in 2013. Will they be funny? I am sure those two will be. Will it be worth watching otherwise? Well, the verdict is still out on that one.

My main problem with this movie is the lack of Brenda. The character, as well as the actress that plays her (Regina Hall), is brilliant. Brenda has always been my favorite part of these movies.

Without Brenda, it’s just not Scary Movie to me. Then there is the issue of the movies they are parodying. Generally the movies are based around scary movies. The main parodied movies this time around include:

Paranormal Activity (2007)
Inception (2010)
Black Swan (2010)
127 Hours (2010)
Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011)

While I still plan to see Inception and Black Swan, I’ve already seen the other films on the list. I see the point of making fun of Paranormal Activity (God that movie was depressingly NOT scary), but Rise of the Planet of the Apes wasn’t a horror movie and 127 Hours was ridiculous on it’s own; it hardly needs parodied.

Maybe it’s because the Wayans no longer have anything to do with the franchise, but this movie looks like it’s more hassle to make than it’s worth.
