Sony Pictures Television will again fire up the critically acclaimed edgy FX drama Rescue Me this summer. On June 3, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment debuts Rescue Me: The Complete Fourth Season on DVD in a four-disc set that contains all 13 episodes along with exclusive bonus features, including a blooper reel, deleted scenes, featurettes with the cast and producers, and real footage shot and produced by America’s Bravest. The series stars Emmy® and Golden Globe® nominee Denis Leary (Ice Age, The Ref), and features guest stars Academy Award® winner Susan Sarandon (Dead Man Walking, 1996), Gina Gershon (Face/Off) and Jennifer Esposito (Crash). Rescue Me: The Complete Fourth Season will be available on DVD for $49.95 SLP.

Rescue Me centers on the inner workings of a New York City firehouse and the personal and emotional battles of its members in a post-9/11 world. This season presents a whole new set of dramatic and heroic moments, ranging from the fate of beloved but ill Chief Jerry Reilly to the public humiliation the firehouse suffers after a botched rescue attempt.

On the personal front, Tommy must defend his innocence in an arson investigation and deal with his older daughter running away from home. Tommy’s ex-wife Janet is tortured by the thought that her new baby doesn’t like her, and Uncle Teddy is free after a not guilty verdict in his manslaughter trial. It’s business as usual with challenges and turbulence for Tommy and the guys.

Created by Leary and two-time EmmyAward-winning writer-producer Peter Tolan (TV’s “The Larry Sanders Show,” “Murphy Brown”), Rescue Me skillfully finds the humor in everyday life while never shying away from the emotional tragedies that affect the characters. In addition to Leary, the series stars Daniel Sunjata, James McCaffrey, Jack McGee, Michael Lombardi, Steve Pasquale, John Scurti, Lee Tergesen, Dean Winters, Andrea Roth, Callie Thorne, Lenny Clarke, Oscar® winner Tatum O’Neal and two-time Oscar nominee Charles Durning.

The critically acclaimed Rescue Me has been nominated for four Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Writing and Directing; honored with the Producers Guild of America’s 2005 Visionary Award; and nominated for six Satellite Awards (winning for Best Ensemble: Television in 2005). Rescue Me will be returning for a fifth season on FX.
