(December 17, 2007) – Academy Award® winner Anthony Hopkins (Best Actor, The Silence of the Lambs, 1992) writes, directs, and stars in Slipstream, debuting on DVD February 26 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The surreal tale of one man’s journey into a vortex where reality and dreams collide, the film features an all-star cast, including Stella Arroyave (The Human Stain), Academy Award® nominee Michael Clarke Duncan (Best Supporting Actor, The Green Mile, 2000), Fionnula Flanagan (The Others), Camryn Manheim (TV’s “The Practice”), S. Epatha Merkerson (TV’s “Law & Order”), Christian Slater (True Romance), Jeffrey Tambor (TV’s “The Larry Sanders Show”), Gavin Grazer (American Gangster, Flightplan) and John Turturro (Romance & Cigarettes, O Brother, Where Art Thou?).

The special features on Slipstream include Dreaming Slipstream, a “making of” featurette that combines behind-the-scenes footage with in-depth interviews with the cast and crew; deleted scenes and audio commentary by Sir Anthony Hopkins. The DVD will be available for $24.96SRP and has an order due date of January 24, 2008.

Synopsis:
Aging screenwriter Felix Bonhoeffer (Hopkins) has lived his life in two states of existence–the world of reality and the world inside his head. Hired to rewrite a murder mystery set in a desert diner and unaware that his brain is on the verge of implosion, Felix is politely baffled when the characters from his movie start showing up in his life and vice versa. Felix tries to maintain his equanimity as reality and fantasy collide in an increasingly whirling slipstream, while his memory banks fire off seemingly random references to songs and sci-fi movies from the Fifties.
