Yet another backslide for the Army came in Wyoming on Saturday when it is believed that David Munis, one of the Army National Guardsman the Army trained as a sniper shooter, shot and killed his wife. The woman, Robin Munis, a local Cheyenne singer, was shot in the head while she was performing on stage at a restaurant and bar, the Chicago restaurant.
One, perfectly executed shot was all that was needed, to kill the woman. The shot, which went into her head, came from outside the bar and restaurant. While witnesses near the scene of the crime saw her husband in the area around the time of the murder, no one has reported actually seeing the shot fired.
These events took place right after midnight on Saturday. Robin, age 40, and David, her 36 year old husband, recently separated. Police had received more than one complaint from her stating that she was receiving threatening phone calls from her estranged husband. The last complaint came on Friday. With that in mind, at the present time, David Munis is the sole suspect and no one has seen him since the evening of the shooting.
Deidre Forster, a spokesperson for the Army National Guard, has said that David Munis is a second lieutenant in the guard. At the present time, he still has ties and obligations with the guard. While police are saying Munis received sniper training, Forster would not or could not confirm that fact.Investigators say that, at present, no weapon has been found. However, ballistic tests are being performed and they are nearly certain it will confirm that a rifle was used in the murder. The public is warned to be careful if they see Munis and to let authorities know. He is extremely dangerous. If you see someone matching David Munis’ description, please contact Cheyenne authorities immediately.
