Jenny Slater Get out of My Head! For those who do not know who Jenny is, she hosts the wildly popular TV Junkies recap of American Idol. From day one, this girl has been saying nearly everything I have been thinking. I highly recommend you watch her commentary. It is funny, fresh, and dead-on. America listen up! Jenny’s got it going on! That being said, I have to reflect upon this week’s episode of American Idol. While Sanjaya was not booted yet, and I suggest everyone pray to their God/Goddess/Gods that he will be very soon, one of the worst three, or as I like to call them, the “Axis of Evil” was booted off. This axis, consists of the worst performers on AI, Haley Scarnato, Phil Stacey, and Sanjaya Malakar. For weeks, I have sat and watched. I have asked myself, why is the “Axis of Evil” still on AI? Why? I have come to one conclusion…America is stupid. We are so used to hearing crappy music that when we hear good music, it is hard to recognize it. I have said this many times before and I will say it again. When I think of a good singer…I think of Frank Sinatra not Britney Spears…yet my nephew, for years, insisted that Britney was God’s Gift to the Vocal World. It is the same as Hollywood. When I think good actresses I think Meryl Streep not Cameron Diaz. You cannot even compare the two to one another. They are not even in the same league with one another yet Cameron still keeps getting jobs. Why? America is stupid! |
We are so used to crap that eventually crap begins to look good. Hell, we even do this with food! I implore you to try a homegrown, organic tomato and a processed, store bought tomato then tell me the homemade one isn’t juicier, tastier, and overall better. Yet, we have become so used to the crap in everything we have not only begun to accept it, we have begun to embrace it.
I am a free thinker. I do not want the crap infesting the world. I do not want to be forced to endure mediocre singing, pathetic hairdos, and looks in the camera that remind me of a dirty child molester seeking out his next victim, which is what I see when I look at Sanjaya. Gone are the days of the Beatles, Dean Martin, heck even Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin who were both amazing performers.
Now, we have to have Mr. Clean Boy (or as Ash calls Him Rug Burn) Phil Stacey, Look at My Legs Girl Haley Scarnato, and I think I’m Hot Shit But I’m Not Funky Hair Boy Sanjaya Malakar, as our “Idols”. If that is the case I do not want an idol. I do not want my kids to have an idol, and I think those who agree should picket the television/music industry as a whole.

It is time we put our foot down. I had to laugh the other day because someone recently compared Sanjaya to Brad Pitt…saying he was the new Brad Pitt. Where the hell did they come up with that?! Then one of his little Fanjaya friends responded by saying Sanjaya was “hotter” then Brad Pitt. How can you even compare the two? Brad has been in movies that are amazing like Twelve Monkeys, Kalifornia, Se7en, etc. Sanjaya has what skills? Other than making me want to vomit…none. |
So, America, I say it is time you get some balls. Stop accepting mediocre food, mediocre actors, and mediocre music. Start fighting for your right to hear something that actually sounds good! I know I have many who agree with me. For one who does, check out Jenny Slater’s analysis of last week’s performances and the results show and do not forget, the “Axis of Evil’ is bad so don’t vote for them. One down, two to go.

The Axis of Evil is in your own mind and the minds of those haters who are not only illiterate (most can’t even spell) and bigoted. Junior Pat Robertsons in training panties. Where is your purple teletubby? In this culture of stupidity and Republican mentality it’s NO surprise to see this garbage spewing out of the mouth of the ignorant like the article above. If you want to hear the flawless perfection of REAL singing and REAL talent, buy a Josh Groban CD. And stop posting your worthless opinions. You only advertise to the world just how miniscule your mentality truly is. You are Boorring!
I just had to post the above comment. It is obvious that they did not get my sarcasm about the “Axis of Evil”. That was meant more in a mocking way then a literal one.
I’ve been attacked in multiple ways here. First, I have a purple teletubby and next I am a Republican. Does this make me a gay Republican? I thought Republicans didn’t like tinky winky?
I’m actually not a Republican at all, so I found this comment quite amusing. I don’t like a 17 year old talentless boy who cannot sing?
Furthermore, I sang in choir for years. You don’t typically audition for gospel choirs. The idea is “Christ will accept any voice…it’s about God not quality of voice”.
I also think comparing Josh Groban to Sanjaya is funny. I’m not a fan of Josh, but I’ll admit he can sing. I think its offensive to Josh to even post about him in the same message with Sanjaya.
I don’t know why people can’t handle opinions without attacking. Perhaps check out more of my work to discover I’m against Pat Robertson before comparing me to him next time!
This is one of the happiest days of my life! Sanjaya has finally gone home! Two out of three are gone. Next week, it is time for America to vote off Phil!
